If we are fortunate, we have friends
and family around us this holiday season. If we don't...
why not?
Could it be that we dropped the ball?
Was there - Is there - someone who reached out to us
in friendship or affection, but our own busyness or
distraction let them slip away?
Was there - Is there - someone who
is distant not because of our inaction, but perhaps
due to difficult circumstances in their own lives?
The truth of the season... the truth
of life is that it isn't about stuff. It's about the
content of our hearts, the memories we build with others,
and the bonds of love and friendship that elevate our
souls.
This week I take stock
of my relationships, and take
an action, however small, to strengthen a relationship
and stay connected.
